93 LX Timing Belt
My mechanic tells me my 93 Protege lx with only 40,000 KLM! has a dry and old timing belt, and i should change it, even though its not broken, its the original belt, and its 10 yrs old, but crazy low klms.
on the other hand my friend says dont bother till it breaks...even though its old it still works and wont cause damage etc....something about a non interfering engine... the car runs perfectly except for a small vibration when im stopped in drive..is this a sympton of the old belt? should I change or wait? ...thanks in advance for any replies |

"It doesn't matter if the mileage is low or not. There's a reason why maintanence schedules have "mileage" or "months" which ever comes first". So true, go ahead and change out the belt, at least you'll have peace of mind!:D |
Why would u wanna wait till it snaps then have to have ur car towed?.. I would just change it be safe ..Jon 93 lx
