1.8 SOHC vs 1.8 DOHC

heres the story. im thinking about doing a 1.6 to 1.8 swap. i read all about the engine types on protege faq. my question is: if i dont get a 1.8 dohc, how sad do i have to be? is it much better than 1.8sohc (except that it is stronger)? i hope that you know what i mean
thanks

Get the DOHC. No reason to get the SOHC.

Im not sure of the mpg on the dohc, but I have a sohc and it gets about 34mpg, the dohc cant be that bad tho, Im looking to do a swap soon to a GT-R modified j-spec from corksport soon. Id say go with the dohc, get more power out of it and ur not missing anything the single has.
