the thiong is there is something wrong with the drivetrain, when the car is running in netural the passenger side axel spins causing nasty grining in the passenger wheel
when clutch in press it stops spinning (the axel) i couldnt see the driver side axel but there was no sound from the side so i assume it wasnt moving at all the car will not move in any gear the spedo will go up a little bit but not much, axel spins faster in gear and gets loud as fuck engine runs great car just wont move the guy said that one day he was backing out of his drive way and heard a pop then the car woulnd move ever again he had a machanic look at it and he said it was something to do with the clutch, the clutch isnt burnt out cuz the pedal still go spring and all any suggestions of what may be dammaged? cause? thank alot! |
I'm gonna say differential or the splines are rounded off on the halfshaft. Maybe the CV joint got pulled apart and the two parts of the halfshaft are spinning around inside the boot. Get underneath the car and try to turn the halfshaft with your hand. There should be very little play.

yep car will not move if joint is crap. i wouldnt really be to concerned with the differential as its still turning the axle.

damn it's a dx..
I think that it maybe the axle , change the axle and put another one on the car and it should run ... this is what happend to me one night in my protege ... The frigin axle broke and when I steped on the gas you would hear a loud grinding and the tach and spedo would fly up ..... damn open dif ... I say take it and fix the axle then sell it and use the extra money as savings or something Bruce |
