What is that weird thump sound coming from my front left springs/shocks?

Hey everyone...
I was wondering what's wrong w/ my baby!
When I go over a speed bumb evenly or pull up into a driveway with a little step going up I hear a little shhhh noise! I'm not talking about ur average speed bumps.. i'm talking about the bigger humps almost as long as the car.

Also when I make a left onto a driveway with a step I hear a little thump from my left shock/spring (can't really tell cuz i'm driving)! I dont' get this noise when I make a right... only a left turn, and the noise comes from the left front suspension area....

N e one have a clue? CV boots? Springs? Shocks?:dunno:

If im right I had the same problem and it was the Tie rod end that was loose. Just have the pin change in no time

And like you it was only when I was making a right turn and hiting a bump

The "shhhh" sound is likely just the sound of the oil moving through the valves in the strut. It makes the noise all the time, you just notice it more at slow speeds and bigger bumps.

A thump when the shock extends is likely the thrust bearing. These things are made of plastic, and prone to wear out. When they wear out, they will pull apart over bumps, resulting in a clunking sound. I've replaced mine numerous times (I autocross regularly, so I'm harder on them then most). This is another advantage of the ZX-2 struts...Ford went with a metal bearing with the ZX-2, which is stronger, and less prone to failure.

is that the thing I need to get with the ZX2 shocks that i'm getting next month cuz if so then I'm not too worried!

Yes

as davard said, a definite advantage for the zx2 setup!
