Want to lower car!
I really want to put some 17's on my car...but I'm told that if I do, then there's no way in hell I could lower it. If I do go with the 17's, would I be able to lower my car, and if so, how much???
|
Yes. Mines lowered 2" with 16's. I believe groharlem has 17's with a 2" drop.
|
I have a supposed 1" drop on my 323, but it's more like 2" in the back and 1 1/2" in the front. I also have 17"s, you should be fine
|
i have similar problem.....i bought 205 55 r15's and when my suspension compresses.....i hear rubbing on the back..... i have tokico eibach pro kit....so it's 1" lower....any ideas as to what it could be.....
it was in the winter that i heard the rubbing......so it could have been ice....but when i looked in the wheel well ....there was no snow collection... asy ideas? |

DAMN:mad: and i got a steal on those rims too.....i was in the right place at the right time...and the guy was drunk....so i got four 205/55r15's for $40....with falken zeix rubber all around....oh well...i'll give the rims to my dad...
thanx |
yeah ....it sux...these were off a late 80's prelude... oh well....i'll have to use my 185/65 r14's for now...at least these rims are lighter and i can accelerate quicker in them....the 15's felt sluggish...and slow...but cornered better...
maybe i'll just wrap my 14's in 50 pro rubber..:D |
Yes. Mines lowered 2" with 16's. I believe groharlem has 17's with a 2" drop. What springs do you have? I can't find spring with a 2-inch drop. |
I've got a 2 inch drop and I ride on 14's.
Jap-spec: We are all using Sprint lowering springs for the 2 inch drop. They are available at www.nopi.com Adam 1991 Harbor Blue LX |
Is it a nice, strong, stiff ride with those springs?
|
YO! Can you stop the fighting for a sec. and answer my question?
Will the 1990-94 Protege springs fit on my 1993 mx3 car? I heard they would and I hope it's true because I can't find any company that makes 2-inch drop springs for my 1993 mx3. |
MX3 springs fit on the Protege, so yes, the Protege Springs will fit on your MX3. But they are softer than the MX3 springs.
You can do 2 things to correct the tire rub, 1. shave the backs ofthe wheels to allow for less offset and suck the wheel under. This must be done by a very reputable shop, as any flutter in the shaving with throw off the balance. 2. adjust for more negative camber :) ok, 3 things, 3. buy new wheels..... but now you tell me, 1, 2, or 3? |
I'm gonna combine 2 and 3 !!!:D ...just for the hell of it !!!
|
Well I want the car to look slamed. I want to be able to only stick one finger in the gap between the wheels of the car and the body. Do you think a 2-inch drop is enough?
|
hey a if you are low on funds u can heat the springs and add weight on them they should be lower not sure how much
