vibrating brake pedal
 

hi when i'm driving anywhere up to around 45 miles an hour and brake i have no vibration in my brake pedal but when i go above that and step on the brake pedal i get a vibration from my brake pedal. i've changed the front pads and rear shoes and i didn't notice anything wrong with the rotors or drum such as dungs dents out of round or anything like that so any ideas would be nice on whats wrong

hmmmmmmmmmmmm, have you tried bleeding your lines?

it might be that your tires are out of balance, or your rotors ARE warped but you can't notice it by looking at them. try taking your rotors off and measuring the rotors with a micrometer, anything more than like .008 or .010 you are going to feel in your brake pedal

resurface resurface resurface :) you're rotors are probably warped to maybe even the slightest...have them checked out or resurfaced...worst case scenario, throw some $9 dollar rotors on and call it a day. and do you hear a slight chugging sound coming from the front end of your car when you're driving down the road? balanced tires do that, they have a noticeable sound at any speed over 25mph, but the faster you go, the more prevelant the noise becomes.

Although bleeding the lines may be another source of the problem, as mentioned above, you may want to check out 2 other things. When I drove a Olds Silhoutte van for a little while, I would get a little shimmy above 70mph. Found out it was a slightly bent wheel stud on the front driver's tire that was causing it. On my pro, when I recently changed my brakes, I guess I forgot to tighten one of the back tires enough, so it was every so slightly loose, causing a soft "thump-thump" sound and a little shimmy at higher speeds. Check it out sometime.

i rebuilt the calipers that fixed the problem
