p5 strut brace fit a p1 ?

They look similar has anyone tried it ? I'm looking for a cheap solution, I don't want some P.O.S. strut brace but I also don't want to spend 200$ on one either.

Thanks for your help

first gen protege ! 1990-1994 I think

Actually I was wondering if I could mount one to my 90 lx pro with out f'ing up my car and still have the bar be functional, the struts do look as though they are the same or similar distance apart. Try not to be so crabby, take it easy I'm a newbie for god sakes

i don't think they will interchange , you can get a good strut bar for your car for pretty cheap man , check out www.procarparts.com or you can go to my site and you can go to the links section , there I have a bargain section , where I post occasional links to bargains, there you will see a link to a company selling a strut bar, click on it and then look for one for a 1st gen pro ok ,, also corksport sells the performance strutmounts for you car

Cheaper and fuctionality were really my purpose in this post. I didn't want to spend 200 $ on a strut tower bar but I am willing to if thats what it takes to get the desired performance that I want from the car. Yes I also realize that the rear sway bar will help more, I 'm just trying to plan my attack of how I want to upgrade my car before it ever hits an autocross track. Most of those 50-60 $ strut braces look really weak and flimsy ? are they let me know I would really like to buy one and would like some input on this.

thanks guys

I don't use auto-x to guide my descions as to what I do and don't want to buy for my car. I'm sure I will be put in some class or another. I want stiff big burley strut braces those will help the chassis roll as will sway bars, I could give a rats ass who I race against I just wanna race my car is all, and enjoy my car after I'm done racing. Thanks for your replys
