new to the board, got a ?

My suspension is in need of a rebuild. At present, I plan on using escort zx2 struts with H&R springs due to what I've read on this site. My question is for a daily driver, will this combination be too stiff. I like my car to handle, but I also want it to not leave skidmarks in the pants of my next passenger(though that would be pretty cool }: ), but I'm just twisted like that.) If I don't use H&R's, I'll probably go with the Eibachs. I appretiate any oppinions.

If I don't put the H&R's on this car, they'll go on my other Pro. That one will also see either a BPT swap, or I'll turbo the LX engine. When that time comes, I'll be screaming for help I promise.

Also, I've heard that a mod must be made to the spring perches to fit the ZX 2 struts. What is this mod, and what all must I purchase to swap them. Obviously the springs, struts, ZX2 thrust bearings, and probably new bump stops. Anything I missed? Thanks for the help.

its all relative, but the ZX2 struts ARE stiff. Its not unbearable - just more `jarring'. Driving cross-country on them wasn't too bad; but when you start hitting all the rough stretches of interstate doing 75....well...let's just say i caught 'air' and hit my head on the roof a few times :)
so i don't mean to scare ya. if you want performance(at the sacrifice of some ride quality) - it seems to be a good way to go and the price is right.
i understand the eibachs ARE 'softer' than the H&R's; so they may be a better choice.
i didn't buy any new bumpstops, but you'll probably need some new dust boots

Welcome!

IMHO the ZX2/H&R combo is not street friendly. The Eibachs were noticably softer. For me, I don't care how it rides, as long as it works well, and they do work well :D

You can reuse the stock rear bumpstops, they come with new front bumpstops only. You may want to add 2 new top shaft nuts too.

and as Jay said, my site has a full how-to on the installation, including the mod to the perch for the thrust bearings.
