HP Racing

Has anyone here tried the HP Racing Big Brake Stage 2 kit for their 323 or Protege???

I was thinking about getting it, but wanted to see if anyone else has bought it before.

Thanks.

I saw an ad for them in a mag, so I went to their website and checked it out. I also emailed them too.

They're 6 piston calipers, 12.5" rotors, s-steel brake lines, caliper adapter plates, etc....$1699 (US). Very pricey.

$1700:eek:

I'd be better off saving a few more $$$ and getting a nice Turbo setup.

Never seen or heard about anyone having the kit on this forum.
Maybe you'll be the first one if you decide to get it. Make sure you let us know if you do.

Heh, yeah I know, eh? It's a crap load of money, which is why I wanted an opinion on them. I've never heard of anyone ever buying this kit, I guess I know why...

I'm probably going to piece together my own big brake kit as it would end up cheaper too.

Geez, that's a lot to pay.

I can't see a custom mounting braket being more than a couple hundred dollars at most. You can get calipers for around $200, the brake lines and pads for about $100, rotors for about $200, and then a custom bracket made by someone.

Either way, $1400 is less than $1700.
