Evotec Strut Tower bar fron Ebay

About two weeks ago I purchased a strut tower bar off of E-bay for $40.00. It's from a canadian company called Evotec Industries. Sure, I saved $20.00 over buying a Corksport one, but it took the guy a whole week to ship it. Fit and finish are ine line with what I paid for it, though for some reason the drver side mount was a pain in the ass going on. So it's up to you, pay a little more for the corksport stuff and get it within a few days, or take your chances on E-bay. All I know is my rear strut tower bar is coming from Corksport!

Oh, I forgot to say how well it works.
The thing handles even better now, even more slot-car-like!:)
The car is stiff to begin with, almost Teutonic! But hey, it can be improved. Next mission: getting rid of body roll and understeer.

PsuedorealityX,
Gotta love that pic!!!:blue:

Might as well take my chances again on E-bay.

I received mine from them very quickly. It was some time ago that I ordered it though. I prefer Mazda Motor sports as a source for most things anyway. They have most of the mechanical stuff CorkSport does, and then some.

Actually if you bought the front Corksport bar like I did, you would've had to wait 4 months, and the fit is about the same.

I was pretty pissed to say the least. CS is really hurting for help from what i hear, and they can't keep up with the orders they get, and it takes them months to get shit in which is shitty IMHO. Too bad they are the only way to go for most things

I emailed that Evotec company to ask them some questions on id and od but they did not reply. I asked them if all the had were polished and still no responce. I also saw on ebay that Ractive had mx-3/protege strut towers. Anyone hered on them? I know summit has them for a little more then what they are going for on ebay.

The bar I got was polished aluminum with black mounts. You'll be able to see it on GroHarlem's site once I send him all my pictures (that is another story:rolleyes: ). I know Ractive makes a lot of Honda stuff. I met one guy who had a CRX with one of their intakes and liked it, but that is all I know about them.

Evotec is kinda goofy, I don't think they care if anyone buys their stuff or not. The product I got was good, but the wait...

Ractive seems pretty good. I bought the Protege Strut bar, but because of my cruise control, I would of had to do some minor adjustments, and because of that I figured I might as well make one custom.

Strut tower bars

Hey Guys!! I just got my front and rear strut tower bars from EVOTEC in Toronto, Canada. I bought them off of EBAY for a total of $80 for the set. They are polished with black ends and look sharp!

Build quality seems to be very good. The only problem I noted (as did gi_jason82), the driver side end is a bitch to put on. This is due to the mounting holes being 1/16th or so off and the AC hardlines...a little dremel action and they'll fit fine.

If you haven't bought any strut bars yet, I recommend the bars from EVOTEC on EBAY. They are cheap in price and comparable in quality to other bars I've seen. UPS lost my first shipment and then customs snagged my shit for a few days, so delivery took about 10 days...but they were quick to replace ship the bars and give me tracking numbers.

I see some on this thread have complained about how hard they are to contact, but I didn't have that problem. I had 4 email addresses for them and can give anyone needing it the correct email address. They responded within 24 hours each of the 3 times I emailed them.

I have never had a problem with corksport, but hey lif is weird like that anyway , as for mazda motorsports, well I have never bought anything from them , I really don't know what they sell for the 2nd gen ,, I have seen some small listing they have ,, but it was not really impressing me ... I like the way I can go to the cork site and see mad stuff for the 2nd gen ,, like my carbon brakes,, got them easily and even got a return call that informed me that my order was being shipped,,...
I saw corksport is ok in my book

Normally I don't like to be negative and get into making statements about someone personally, but in this case I feel justified. In my experience, Ben is a moron. He's messed up a couple of my orders, and has an attitude when he screws up. As Jesse said, he usually doesn't have a clue.

Simple fact is that Ben has no clue to what he is doing and has messed up more than one order.
