Bar link kit

It's time for inspection and I went to get my car checked by this dealer place in town and they said I needed a bar link kit but they wanna charge me $70 for it.
I dont' know wtf they are talking bout but I just wanted to know if I could purchase it myself..... Polyurathane?????

thanx in advance!:D

Yeah thye are most likely talking about the end-link bushings, you can buy those online for like 8-12 bucks almost anywere. Oh yeah mine are shot too

Elchulo June-2nd-2002 07:00 PM

Well I got under the car today and replaced my pads so I finally go to look at what the thumping is all about. The right boot is torn (I expected it) and imma take some time tomorrow to fix it.

Does anyone know how I can find those end link things on the car so I can replace them!?!;)

at the end of your sway bar

Elchulo June-2nd-2002 09:14 PM

OH ok those rubber things! Well I don't understand how they are worn b/c they just look really dirty to me:rolleyes:
OH well do they have polyurethane kits for it b/c if it's that easy imma do it myself!!????

:D

mazda disciple June-2nd-2002 09:23 PM

yep they do. Also you might want to ask the dealership to be more specific as to what they are talking about and have them physically show you the problem. Try prothane.com for the bushings should be 8-12 bucks u.s.

hey

I went to napa and bought the sway bar link bolts and bushings for 14 bucks new. So it's not expensive and there are extremly easy to change took me 1/2 hour on a lift.

Yah I'm not gonna let these guys do it b/c I found the kit for 20bucks and I think I can handle the task of installing it...

N E one with any trouble shooting info that has done this?

mazdaspeedwest June-3rd-2002 10:01 PM

put the car on jack stands, and use the jack to unweight the suspension as you remove each endlink bolt so they don't spring ya in the noodle :D

Infact I had ruined mine by not connecting properly and he sent me a new with no shipping cost however i did have to mail the old back. Any ways they are great and treated me with alot of respect and the guy on the phone races a miata too. Good luck Give them a call at 1-800-257-8192 they are located in florida so it might take a few days to get too you.

Go to your local parts store. I paid $100 CDN after core return for a half shaft. I remember some guys in the US saying they bought it in the $60-70 range after core return...
