this tranny sucks!!!!!
before i did my bp swap i was already having problems with my tranny....
i cant shift my car if im on a high rpm..it grinds my reverse gear grinds where is the adjustment for the clutch to disengage? there is none on the clutch slave. is it on the master cylinder? on the pedal? |

Replace the transmission or get it rebuilt. adjusting the clucth won't do anything for ya Wearing of synchro's is usually caused by improper shifting technique. whoever owned the car before you might have power shifted it all the time causing them to wear down. Typically transmissions can last over 300,000 miles before any kind of indication of synchronizer wear shows up, if properly shifted that is. I have no problems with my transmission. It might grind going into reverse, but that happens on almost every car i've ever driven. |

i know exactly what u mean i've rebuilt 2 trannies but basically rebuilding a tranny is just changing the gasket ,plugs and just checking the synchronizers and the speed gears (helical cut) or replace if necessary. im most definite that my tranny is still in good condition its just the engagement that i cant find...

this is just something i always do. i put the car in 1st always before going into rev. damnit now i cant remember why. :mad:

well here's what happening on my tranny ..y i ask for the adjustment.
everytime i have to shift . I have to floor the clutch (i mean keep it on the floor) then it'll shift no problem. when im shifting on my reverse it grinds and while it is grinding i press hard on my clutch then the reverse gear will slow down then it'll go through. im pretty sure that is just adjustment. |
thx for the reply.....and yes i bled the system already but i noticed that the brake and cluch have 1 brake fluid container and separate cylinders if i drain my clutch fluid is it necessary to bleed the brakes too??? well in my opinion i dont think i have to bleed the brakse cus they're separated inside the container. Anyhow thx!

yup i adjusted the pedal and nope it dont grind no more . Not on my reverse and not on my speed gears....cool ! I just hope i didn't adjust it too much .
