Throttle Body gasket?
What's up guys. Earlier today, i took off my throttle body and cleaned it up. It's basically made of two parts, when i separated the two, there was a rubber gasket in between them, but it looked like it was too big for the fitting. I tried to put it back together, but it wouldn't fit... then part of broke... so right now, there's about 3/4ths of that gasket in there. After cleaning the TB, it idled better and shifted smoother and all that, the only issue is that it's idling at 2000 RPM instead of 1000..
What do y'all think. It's this little piece of rubber... like a type of o-ring (but not in the exact shape of an "O") that goes between the two parts of the throttle body. |
well, ahem, you definately need to find a replacement gasket, and you probably messed up your throttle line and thats why its idling at 2000rpm; moreover, (since im not sure what year your car is i cant advise you how to fix it) theres a possibily that you messed up your fuel to air ratio, and maybe didnt put everything back together right. definately get another gasket.

What year, trim level??
Go to the dealer. The new gasket should be cheap. the TB gasket for mine is only like 5 bucks. the IAC gasket was more expensive, like 27$ or something. |
It's a 91 mazda protege lx

And by throttle line, are you talking about the cable that get's pulled when you step on the gas? Cause if so, i'm pretty sure i didn't mess that up.
