A Rx-7 Vaf
Will the RX-7 vaf rally help me with the mods I have? And what exactly does it do?
As far at ET's and WHP |
I read somewhere that VAF stood for Vane Air Flow, which is the type of meter we have on our Pro's, but I've also seen it called Volume Air Flow. I don't really know for sure, there's others here much more knowledgeable than I on these things. Also, from what I understand the rx7 vaf will only give you about a 5hp increase, but only over 6000rpm, and that's why I haven't considered getting one.

it is infact a VAF, Volume Air Flow.
On your LX engine, it will provide a boost of ~5hp above 6000rpm, below 6000rpm, it's the same flow as stock. click here for my how-to page on installing it and tuning it. |
In service manuals they call it a mass air flow sensor. But it is actually a vane air flow sensor. The difference is the vane air flow sensor has a door which controls the amount of air going into intake, MAFs are just straight through.
