ummm, why would ya need to do that? are you putting in some crazy cam or somehting?

wight Oct 5, 2001 09:42 PM

nothing. maybe gaining performance over 7000. In fact, i dont even know if it would be usefull. What you think?

I dont think it would help. The power band doesnt even go that high. i would not worry about it.

sorry man, you won't find any usefull power at 7000rpm unless you have a tuned cam, along with other beefed up internals. the stock cams and internals are said to start to float after 6500rpm, thus reducing power.

Your best bet for more power is to swap in a BP/BPT or KLD/KLZE engine and start from there. Your beating a dead horse with the sohc, unless you have cash....but the basic bolt-ons will get you some extra umph...i wouldn't mess with the rev limiter if i were you.

motor swap

i could swap for a dohc, but my engine is only 80000km the car is in pretty good shape so if i wait for the sohc to blow up, the car will be rusted like a cancer... Here around Montreal, it's fu*kin snowy, we got snowstorm of 1-3 feet of snow thats horrible.
