radiator's fan!
 

Did you ever got this problem?? The radiator's fan won't spin with the default connections....

My ride is a '90 Protege...

My radiator's fan doesn't spin unless I connect it directly on the battery...

That means my fan is in perfect shape.... Now, when I turn the ignition switch to ON ... the fan's relay is switching, I hear it click. And the fuse is brand new.

BUT, the ground or anything electric (I tested) doesn't travel to the fan. Someone told me that it may be because there is some shit on the connector so the electricity can't go through. I cleaned it and still no working fan....

Have you any idea how to fix that ? by the way, the sensor is new... well... if it wasn't working the relay wouldn't click....

If you allready got this kind of problem please say how you fixed it so I can have a better idea how to fix mine.

It sounds like your Cooling fan Relay is bad, you may want to test it with a volt meter. It's very simple to replace if that is the problem. Otherwise.... Hookup a new relay to it and run it manually to a thermoswitch.

well..... why change the relay? It is good ... I went to a mazda dealer and asked them to test the relay because I tought that was the problem and they said it is good....

anyway, the winter will come in some month.... and if my problem isn't fixed yet I will need a manual switch to turn it on and off, but the problem is, where I put that switch, I mean, where I take the electricity? not directly on the battery I hope!

ck fan switch is located under distributor it has a grey conector .it usauly brakes.

are you talking about the fan in the front or the back of the radiator??

I think the front one is for AC

First question, do you have A/C? If so, does the fan run with the A/C fan when the A/C is on (the A/C fan cycles with the compressor).

If the fan runs with the A/C, then the temp sender in the thermostat is defective (that sender is one of two things that turn on the fan...the A/C is the other).

And Protégé Ménacé, the 1st gen Proteges have two fans when you have A/C, and the A/C fan is on the passenger side of the car, in front of the A/C condenser. There is no room behind the radiator on the passenger side, as the exhaust manifold is too close.

I don't have any options on this car lol .... no electric windows no roof window... no A/C no nothing lol

just a steering, a chassis, and four wheels lol


so... what I did is connect the fan in the cigarette lighter and I putted a switch on the left of the steering ... there was an empty slot... I used a defrost switch... from a scrap yard lol

so ... now one switch for the defrost to the right and one switch for the radiator's fan on the left... I let it always on and when winter come I'll turn it off... cause I don't wanna freeze lol
