Quiet Custom Exhaust

I want to put a nice high flow muffler on my 94 Protege LX along with new and bigger pipes from the cat back. The problem is that I do not what it any louder than stock. Does anyone know how to quiet it down without hurting the added performance? Is an additional inline muffler the best way to go? Thanks for any suggestions.

I dont think you can do much if you are wanting quiet, when you say inline muffler i guess you mean the "coffee can" those arent quiet, but i do know of a muffler that is quiet at low rpms and that was a cherry bomb turbo muffler, but i took it off b/c i didnt like quiet...ive never heard of a quiet perfromance exhaust before..

I love tuning and I love Mazdas but I just don't want to look and sound like a tuner anymore. I am almost 30 years old and I have a family and a professional career. My old car was pretty loud and I got a lot of crap for it. Now I am going for a nice, understated, performance machine. That cherry bomb muffler looks exactly like what I need. Did you see a good increase in performance with it?

After having it off and putting on the cherry bomb I didnt drive it around I was just chanigng muffler for sound quality but i ended up taking it off b/c it wasnt loud enough for me, I am 16, go figure lol, anyways when i had the cherry bomb on it had VERY HIGH air flow for it to not be a straight through design i say it had better flow than my straight thruough 3A racing muffler, but if you want quietness at normal driving the CB turbo muffler is the way ti go in IMO.. hope i was of help to you, good luck on your choices...
