Need Help Urgent Please
 

Hello Everyone,

Need your help. I have Mazda Protege 1994 DX 76000 Miles. I am trying to change the transmission oil. The car is on the stand as I write. The problem is the drain plus in 1994 is not the same as described in the book (Haynes book) , The one in the book can be opened by a wrench whereas the one on the car looks nothing like the one in the book. I am confused if I am opening the right one and now messing something big time. Any tips are really really appreciated. The pan and filter are also difficult to reach. Can you please provide tips for those too ?..

to drain T fluid that should be a large bolt on the bottom of the tranny. that is the drain plug/bolt

to fill it back up you have to remove the speedo cable and fill it up from the speedo cable hole.

Thanks for your reply. I know where the bolt/plug is . What is a speedo cable. I thought I could pour oil from the dip-stick hole.

Also on 1994 Protege where exactly is EGR valve is located ?.
