My Dyno chart

Coulda swore i posted this here before, but anyway, after reading a few old posts, i thought i'd through it up.

Pat (GTX140) you can see just how much the cams help, as we have virtually the same set-up, minus the headers.

Rod Millen header

Pacesetter 2.25" piping
Magnaflow Muffler
Advanced IGN timing
91 octane pump gas (76)
Fresh Bosch Platinum +4's (doubt these did a damn thing!)

Check out my dead ford escort gt dyno at http://photos.yahoo.com/obender66
All mods it had is intake, header and 2.25" catback,.
Header is a good investment on BP engine. And I would suggest putting timing back to 10 BDC-it robs you of low end power withour giving any benefits-my timing was stock, and dyno run was done with 87 octane gas with 195/50/15 tires.Just take a look at hp at 4000 rpm-I have about 5 hp more. Save your gas money.Mileage was about 60k miles

EDITED: Uups, just noticed, you've got header already. Then it must be timing

MSW,

Am I reading that correctly? 115 HP (114.7)?

What does that engine put out stock from the books?

I thought it put out 115 stock?

No?

Dude! :D

Please stop quoting entire posts! hehehe :) All your doing is double posting the entire message, that`s not a quote!

You wil drive me nuts doing that! ;)

Ok.......

There are many different BP's. What engine is his specificly?

So, my friend Will and I plugged our drag strip numbers into a Horsepower calculator, and his car puts out about 110 whp (with header and catback), which jibes with his dyno number of 110 whp, both recorded at 2400' above sea level. My car, by the drag strip, 98 whp. Even taking altitude into account, I'm way down on power.

V12~SC,

yes, you are reading that correctly, i have the 1.8L DOHC BP engine from 1990. Remember the dyno measures at the wheels, not the crank. Stock, as mentioned is about 105WHP, so i gained 9.7WHP with the mods. But as i learned, it's not necessarily the gain amount, but the effect of the power curve. Both torque and HP have a better and usable curve now, even up high in the revs. You can see the torque curve is pretty flat but rising from 4000 to 5000. :)

BTW, with that horsepower calculator, with 114.58WHP and 148.95FHP i get a 1/4mile time of 16.7....
