Just Checking - MX3 Cyl Heads
Originally posted by Gro Harlem nope, they are different.. They will bolt up to the 1.6 on the 90-94 323's however. And maybe even the 1.6's on the 85-89 323's Any idea who/ where to ask about swapping the 1.6 16v DOHC Capri head? Thinking that might have a little more pop (especially coupled with the 323 9.3:1 compression). |
Where can you get headers for a 93 LX DOHC.

Originally posted by PseudoRealityX Ummm, no... The stock manifold is a poor design. Plus, Extrude Honing is REALLY damn expensive for the gains. Also, the stock manifold is WAY too short to be tuned at all. Eventually ill have my custom one built...when that day comes, ill see if anyone is also interested. But for whatever reason, i have a feeling that ill have some decent interest in a header that will actually give GOOD gains... But if you have one made, i def WILL BE intrested! |
Originally posted by PseudoRealityX i didnt get what you said about the emissions... You cant put a header on? or you could only put on a header IF it passed emissions? I would like a header that's CARB exempt, so i candrive it anywhere legally AND not have the hassle of taking it off for emmisions inspection every 2 years....they do a visual and the headers stick out like a sore thumb! one of OUR members knows all too well 'bout this :) if the headers have the CARB #, no problemo. CARB is def GOOD for air quality, just makes itmore difficult/costly for manufacturers to put out good stuff. Hope that clears it up and i didn't xplain what you already knew :) |
Originally posted by PseudoRealityX Unfortunately, i will NOT be going through the hassle of making it CARB exempt. in order to get a CARB exemption, you have to prove that the mod does not INCREASE emmisions...well, the bummer is that most WELL designed stuff doesn't; its just the manufacturers don't want to spend $$ and go through all the hassle... Honda's 'course have got plenty of CARB headers to choose from; and miatas as well, including Racing Beat's..... |
