Lets get it right....

Ok... I have searched this forum and many others and have found very many inconclusive answers regarding the 2.5 KL swap. I have been told its bolts in with the correct parts, and I have been told it cant be done (which obviously isnt true). So, what is needed to do it???? I know one needs various parts from the MX3
GS (subframe and crossmember)..... but what else is there besides that and the engine itself???

Thanx a whole bunch for any help!!!!:D

snart, if you do it, photograph the shit out of the swap, we need good (and i mean GOOD) documentation for the swap. i'm gunna do either KL-ZE or the BPT, depending on the advantages/disadvantages of each, and levels of available documentation on the swap will be a HUGE factor in it. and no, i'm not really open to discussing the advantages of each swap here and now, i'll save it for some other thread or something.. lol.

good documentation on this stuff is hard to find, although i must give kudos to GroHarlem and mazdaspeedwest for all the efforts they've documented over the years.

I will prolly go with the ZE just cuz the BPT needs alot of other things to run properly... and the ZE just needs it's ECU. But anyway.... I will most def take more pics than I can stand to look at and get them up on a sight so all can do it too. The reason I am going to do this myself regardless of what it takes is cuz I live way to far from A-Spec to get a car to them.

I live in PA, I'm planning on driving up when I get the money for the swap. Who knows when that will be though :(

try this site.
http://members.attcanada.ca/~dragon64/index.html

(from an MX3 GS, 626/MX6 w/KLDE or KLZE swap to a BG chassis)
engine w/harness
transmission
ECU
lower crossmember
lower control arms
struts, strut mounts
axles and intermediate shaft
spindles, rotors, calipers

things like throttle cable, heater hoses, other vacuum hoses, A/C, etc are yet to be known by me. Although if i ever decide to move out of class racing, then i'll have detailed info, as it's a high possibility for a SM (street mod) car....but thats not for awhile

If i had a working URL, i'd post it, but Aspec in Toronto does these swaps alot, they have/had info on their site regarding parts and cost, was quite reasonable too.

Cost between the BPT and the KLZE are not much different, but the KLZE may be a bit more, depending on the donor parts cost.
