KLZE again ... (tranny)

I know it may have been posted before but it's late and I have to sleep ;)

I was wondering if the MX-6/Probe GT KL-ZE tranny will fit my 1st gen protege ?

you need an mx3 v6 tranny in there and the cross member

Is the bell-housing the same as the g-series LX pro tranny? The KL-ZE tranny is also a g-series, but the bellhousing is different, therefore it won't bolt up. I would ASSume the same for the mx-3 tranny since it's a v-6, but eh... whatever :D

This guy is one ERDT. The EGT and first gen pro are the exact same (aside from styling and a few minor diffeences). He made it work and you can to, dont let other tell you otherwise.

The question was if the KL-ZE TRANNY would bolt up to his first gen. No, it won't.... Without the KL-ZE engine because the bellhousing is different

well if you are doing a v6 swap, then you'd need the K series motor transmission. The mx3, mx6, 626 and probe all use the same bellhousing, slightly different gear ratios (mx3 is shortest...626 is tallest) but they all bolt up to any K8, KF or KL motor, and will NOT bolt up to any B1, B3, B5, B6, B8, BP motor
Oh oh ! That's a damn good post here.... I'm copying this for further reference! thanks man!

EDIT: hmmm I tryed a mx3 tranny with a KL-03 and it was a little weird, and I like long gear so maybe I'm gonna try to find the 626 one.... what year should I get it?

EDIT2: Ohhh it was the 1.8L tranny.... does it make a difference? is the mx3 2.5L tranny better for the KLZE ????

ok first off no the kl-ze tranny won't bolt to the protege motor, second if you even have a kl-ze tranny more props to you because that tranny is a j-spec one and kinda hard to find, i think you mean the kl-de tranny off the probe.mx6.626 as for the mx3 it never came with a 2.5 v6 only a 1.8v6, and as for the guy with that escort i highly doubt that a protege tranny on a kl-ze because THEY DON'T FIT, also alivegas tell your friend to email me at dezznuts59@aol.com because i was helping him with the wiring but he never responded
