No oil pressure would mean that the engine isn't running or it's out of oil. To my unexperienced ear it sounds like either your gauge is busted or you have an ECU problem.

Sorry I can't be more helpful. FREE BUMP!

oil pump could be bad. One way t o check is to test your oil pressure gauge to make sure it's funstioning properly....what may be easier for you to do is to:

1. check your oil level. Is it full?

2. Start the car and while it's running VERY QUICKLY open your oil cap and see if you have oil spalshing around in the head. If you do then you are most likely safe and stuck with a bad gauge or sending unit..

3. if no oil in head and oil is full then you have a bad pump.

I have for about 10yrs, but I guess I just never had an oil problem. Just goes to show you you can always learn something new!

Roddimus Prime January-10th-2005 07:18 PM

make sure to check the oil cap while the car is running to verify that there is no oil in the head.....once you do that you know that you have a pump/pressure problem.
