Why do every body say that the lx here in canada didn't came with the dohc. I have an 93 protege lx it's writen on the car an on the paper of the car, it's a 25 anniversary edition and before my swap i had the 1.8l dohc in it.

what yr egt do i need to look for? i know 90-94 for pro lx. also i have 1.6l sohc, do you think swappign the 1.8l dohc will make a difference in power and does anyone know where to get performance engine parts for the dohc? thanx again...

Go there then click enter and go to the swap guide. Yours is the BG 323 I believe. Look on the list, as it lists about everything you will need. You need alot being a 323. I own a 323 and want to do the swap, but I have not got around to it yet.

http://www.car-part.com
has a good way to find local parts.
You need the engine, all the axels, ecu, speedo cable, radiator, radiator supports, and a couple of other things. I got a list going somewhere, I will post it again later once I find it. All that from a 90 to a 94 protege. any would work from those years so find one that has as low miles as possible.

list so far

OK here is the list I have going, thanks to many who have helped me make this.

For the 323 sawp you wil need:

91-96 EGT or 90-94 Pro LX tranny
" " spedo sensor
" " spedo cable
" " Rear, front, and right tranny engine mount brackets
" " passenger and driver side axels
" " half (middle, jack, intermediate shaft)
" " clutch and flywheel ( I plan to go aftermarket on these when I have everything out
" " clutch slave cylinder

Crap, someone helped me make this list over AIM (MimeAssassin), but I cant remember the screen name right now, but I give them all the credit. Anyone else know of anything else needed? :Dunno:

and what about the wiring? i read somewhere that you dont need to pro lx wiring harness cos there is only a 2 wire difference between pro lx and 323...

yeah I hadnt got to that yet. All I got covered is the mechanical side. I need to do more research for the wiring side.

upgrading a pro is simple. Upgrading a 323 shows true talent
by talent I mean more time and money.
