engine's ability

i have a 94 dx with the 1.8 SOHC 16 valve, and the redline on the factory tac is 6 grand, but when i read the specs on this engine, it says that the redline is 7 grand and fuel cutoff is 7400. Can my engine Handle 7000 rpms?

thanks

NO. Redline for the DOHC is 7k with a fuel cutoff around the 7400 mark. My 1.8 SOHC has a redline of 6k and will only rev to an indicated 6200-6400 RPM before the computer cuts the fun.

ok thanks.....its just weird cause ive seen a lot of different sites that say the redline is 7 grand....but its cool i still love it :D

mike, does that mean it's ok to push it to around 6200 every once in while :D

Sup Kevin!! Actually it is always good to run the car hard once in a while to blow out the ol carbon....I naturally do it at the track as much as possible and only once in a while on the street...mainly cause I would rather spend $ on mods than a ticket.
