Engine Removal Question
Do I have to move the trainy over or out to pull the engine out of a Mazda Speed? I've never pulled an engine out of a front wheel drive car. Currently it looks like if I removed the alternator I might have enough room to slide the engine over a little off the trainy and pull it up without having to move/dicsonnect the trainy?

just leave every thing hooked up and just guide it out make sure that u dont hit the master cylinder
|
Thanks I got it all unhooked except for motor mounts (picking up hoist tonight) and then going to pull the sucker. Looking forward to having it run again. I've only been able to drive it around 3-4 months out of the 14 months I've had the car.

i have put three motors in my car within a year so i have it down pat
|
Wow three times, how long does it take you to switch them? I think it's going to take me about 30 hours total.

What parts do I need to transfer off my Mazda Speed engine to the Protege engine other than the turbo?
|
i had my motor and transaxle out and on the ground in an hour and back in and runnin 10 hours later . there is an oil line the intercooler and radiator and mounts all the plumbing. but the last time i put a motor in we did a timing belt and water pump and crank seal and a rear main and rewired the car and put on my rims

Are the head, intake, and throttle body the same on a Protege as a Mazda Speed?
Wondering if I need to switch these parts. They all look the same from what I can see. |
i think that they are the same . call a mazda dealer parts counter and see if the #'s are the same

Wondering if I need to switch these parts. They all look the same from what I can see. Also, what model year and trim level of Protege are you talking about? People get really annoyed when others ask vague questions like this. Be more specific if you expect any answers besides "YEAH MAN I THINK THAT SHIT WILL WORK" |
