Engine question - Lifters ???

Ok, that's what I am facing:

whenever my engine is idling, I hear LOUd knocks coming from my engine head. It sounds like a woodpecker on action !!!

When I touched one sparkplug I could "feel" the knocking... very weird... I first thought my plug was loosen... which is not...

Does this engine have lifters ?? Is that something from the lifters ??

Anyone had this problem ?? how to fix it ??

thanks

HLA (hydraulic lash adjusters) noise...try an oil change (use a Mazda filter with a check valve to keep oil in the head when the car's off)...possibly may require a change in oil grade.
$hit... I did an oil change the other day.... but I doubt theuy used a Mazda filter with a check valve (i didn't even know they had check valves)....

I'll do the search on HLA .... let me see what people been talking about it...

Thanks

Also, the Mobil 1 and K&N oil filters have the check valve, too.
