engine mods for DOHC

ok heres the skinny. im looking to make my almost mint 93 LX a sick lil ride (more show than go). but i dont have the 3K+ that it would probobly cost to get my car turbo'ed (GT-X or custom). and if i had that kinda cash, id probobly just buy a VTEC integra, even though Pros are pretty sick... but back to reality. ya so is there anything other than bolt on ish that can be done to my DOHC to get some more HP outa the sucker. ive heard about putting a rx7 VAF, and also something about getting a miata head and advancing the timing. any suggestions would be great! PEACE.

oh yeah, this thread is due to the fact that i cant find that much on the internet beyond the bolt on ish (somehow all the search engines KNOW i want to buy a new car, WOW!). i just wanna know anything creative that my fellow G1Pro owners have done other then the obvious intake and exaust systems, oh and they dont make chips for our engines do they? thatd be monkey ill...

you can find a set of pistons from a miata 99 they are high compression, play with the ignition timing to advance the timing, air flow meter from a RX7 86-89 non turbo, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, port and polish head and intake manifolds, and a header with a good exhaust.

well for starters you can think about the goals you want with your engine. i would suggest the GTX, way more power than a POS vtec honDUH.

to turbo a 1st gen it is cheaper to just swap in the GTX by almost 2 grand, unless your whp goals are very high, inthat case a custom build will yield better results.
