Damn Speedo Cable?

I just replaced my drivers side cv axle and of course I had to drain my transaxle fluid. I found where the speedo cable inters the tranny and removed the cable so I could fill it, but I can't find an easy way to do it. Any suggestions? There is a little metal circular piece in the middle of where the speedo cable was, and it makes it virtually impossible to fill.
Thanks

The plate on the trans that the speedo cable connects to has a 10mm bolt on it. That needs to come off. The easiest way to get to that is by using at least 20" of ratchet extension. I actually find it's easier to get it out with the cable attached- loosen the bolt and then give the cable a gentle tug.

Thanks for the reply. I got it filled and didn't even break the speedo cable.
