damn radiator !!!

well i guess its about time to replace my radiatior. Mine couldn't take the beatin' i've been doing to the engine.

on my way home i was messing around with my car. running on first gear up to 5k rpm and leaving it there till i let go of the gas pedal and listening to the sound of my muffler....sounds cool by the way:D Anyhow as i reach my drive way rite b4 i turn off the engine i smelled sumthin' ... coolant! i was trying to trace where it came out off and after 10 mins of searching (engine running but not overheating) i notice that the coolant came from the top of my radiator and sprayed through the passenger side where the timing belt is at.

i heard about the aluminum radiator for the bp 1.8 dohc engines but do they really make 1? how much? and where can i get it?
can sum1 let me know please cuz i dont want to drive the 03 pro5 all the time its too boring...thx!

I just replaced mine about a month ago with one that is all metal. I called a company called radiator express at 800-252-0333. I paid $150 plus tax, freight, etc. It was more than most guys have paid, but it was delivered to the door in 2 hours from the time of my call. I'm not sure if they are a national distributor. This was a Philadelphia distributor.

The install is cake. It took more time to remove the resevoir than anything else.

Good luck

B

I hate to say this but, try the search. There has been a load of stuff posted on this topic. (common issue-apparently)

I replaced the radiator on one of our Pro's with a metal one, and I got the shop discount(I work @ a car repair shop), I think I paid $120. Get the metal radiator, it's the only way to go.
My kid has driven his LX with the A/C on all around S. Texas in the summer with absolutely no problems.
It's an easy replacement job too!!:)
