Does anybody happen to know where I would be able to get a intake pipe made for a 94 protege dx sohc, i need to buy a new one since the one I have lost it's look with the engene heat. And it has to be mandrel bent not crush bent like the crappy one i have.

try a local muffler shop or home depot for parts if you want to make it yourself......

what kind of pipe (steel or aluminum) would i buy if i went to home depot, and will it withstand the heat of the engine.

I haven't done this myself so I cannot tell you how well this will work for our cars but here is a page with some info you might find interesting and informative...

you should be able to use either aluminum or steel. To make it withstand the engine heat, put a few coats of high heat engine paint on the inside and outside.

or better yet, get it ceramic coated if you want to get rid of heat.
