my clutch is completely gone!

about how much would it cost to get a new one prof. installed?

im pretty sure its gone...

when i try to accelerate it will just slip, in every gear....

when i go to take off, i have to let it all the way out, and just barely get moving...

i had to go about 40 on the interstate because i couldnt gain speed without it slipping

and i could barely get in my driveway....

Yeah.. its the clutch then. I asked cuz one of my friends thought the clutch was gone on his car (Olds Cutlas) and it turned out it was just his Slave Cylinder. Jesse is right on with the price too, you could do it yourself, but I have learned the hard way the its much better to just pay somebody to do the clutch if its a mazda.

Nah, that's not learning the hard way. It's just taking the easy way out...$200 bucks for a performance clutch and free labor is the way to go. Mazda's are freaking awesome to work on, the engineering put in the car took the DIY'er into consideration. The car was built to come apart if you catch my drift...?:laugh:

If you do it yourself, don't forget to have the flywheel resurfaced, use a new throw-out bearing, and probably replace the rear main seal (since you are there :) ).

Not the Mazda/Ford cars I've done clutches on, I will admitt though, the Pro LX we (Cousin and I) did last year was the easiest of the 4.

I bought my ACT 6 puk for 350. And ive gotting quoted on install pricing from 375-450. But i wanna learn how to do it myself so we will see next month ..Jon 93lx

Damn that sucks, they want more for the install than what you payed for the clutch.

Everyone uses them for the bpt.. Or atleast everyone ive talked to... I know people that have put 20,000 on them and still go fine . As fair as i can see the transmissions are strong if u dont drop it at 7k ...Jon

does anybody know of a good website or something were i could get a perfomance clutch for a 1.8 SOHC

i checked nopi online, and they have one for around $180...
