Car won't start!!!
I took my car in to the dealer to get an engine clean(shampoo) and now it won't start. They say it's been narrowed down to the distributor. They've even gone as far as putting a test one in. It works for a couple of min. then it dies again and it won't start after that.
Any suggestions? |
Looked through it and there was nothing. The shop said I'm gonna have to get a new distributor. Any other ideas? I mean, this car's never had a stalling history, the thing worked when i drove it to the shop and they drove it into the garage.

if its at a shop.....and you know trust the mechanic ..go with what he says...
my advice would be to get a new cap....make sure all the spark plug wires are plugged in all the way as they may have been knocked around while cleaning... after that ..i don't know....i believe though that if you take the distibutor cap off and the rotor button...there is a small plate wich connects the wires in the distributor that will cause the car to turn..but not turn over.... but I WOULD GO WITH WHAT THE SHOP SAYS... ALL THESE PARTS I MENTIONED CAN BE BOUGHT @ AUTOZONE OR WHJATEVER FOR LIKE 3-6 DOLLARS A PIECE..... later |
just a suggesting...you think anything might be wrong with the air flow meter? check that too cuz i had a problem (when installing intake) and the car would not start. hope its nothing major for you

Well..it was the distributor...the shop paid for half. Works fine now..thx guys

this happened to my PGT after I washed it and I eventually (after replacing the damn starter and other various things:mad: ) narrowed it down to the battery not having a good connection. So I went and got some of that red goop and put it on the terminals and brushed them, that took care of it.
