Back-up sensor

ok, i have a really important question... i was trying to figure out where to check and refill my tranny oil in my 5 speed, well i am bouncing off the walls happy that i finally know where it is, but in the process (before i found it) i removed the back-up sensor in the front of the tranny and upon putting it back in my reverse lights stay in permenantly once i put it in reverse, even when i take it out of reverse... does anyone know how to fix this? or what's wrong? i didn't do anything to it but take it out and put it back in :(

Hmmmm... what about if you disconnect the switch? do the still stay on?

x0panda0x May 7, 2002 09:52 AM

haven't tried it yet, was going to but didn't know if it would mess anything up in the ecu... i'll try it tomorrow, but my one thing is i still won't have my reverse lights

islandpro May 7, 2002 10:08 AM

better none then on all the time. ;)

x0panda0x May 7, 2002 10:11 AM

well, i took the bulbs out :D just wondered if anyone had a clue about this problem i have... haha, i wouldn't leave them on, could you imagine seeing a dummy going down the street with his reverse lights on,

islandpro May 7, 2002 10:14 AM

LOL i dont have to imagine ive seen way to many times around here.

x0panda0x May 7, 2002 10:15 AM

that's some fun shiznit

islandpro May 7, 2002 10:16 AM

You could try to take back out the sensor and look it over. maybe some how it got screwed up.

x0panda0x May 7, 2002 10:18 AM

you know what, the other day when i had it on the lift i was going to try, but the second i loosened it, gear oil started coming out, sucked to cause if i had realized it was messed up while the tranny was still almost empty, i wouldn't have had that problem

might do it and have a friend stick his finger over the hole while i check the sensor out, lol

islandpro May 7, 2002 10:19 AM

oh yea. the car i did see with it reverse lights on. had a sticker on the back of it that said. Fear my Beater!

islandpro May 7, 2002 10:21 AM

haha ahhh yea i need you to finger my car... :p

x0panda0x May 7, 2002 10:22 AM

lol, hey, with the red line mt-90 i put in it, i doubt it would even notice, lol

islandpro May 7, 2002 10:27 AM

haha true.

i will be running RL MTL. hopefully that will be good. ;)

x0panda0x May 7, 2002 10:29 AM

well, i do recommend the RL MT-90... cause our manuals call for 75w90 and that's what the mt 90 is... i got me a redline catalog :) so i can look at all of this junk when i get bored

knightrider May 7, 2002 10:35 PM
