Hey man! you have to come to my house and help me with the cam shaft. I need to replace my camshaft seal. Its frickin' leakin' n shit! later WTF!

SICK I LIKE IT !!!

gear setup

With my combo I have noticed the 2.25 exhaust will sound less with -2 degrees in the exhaust and + 4 in in the INtake ...yes plus four in the intake.

With :

+4 I and -2 E will sound less and rev up harder all around power band.

At +4 I and 0 E the car will sound more but at around 4,000 rpms the car just takes off more INSANELY.

Do recall each car is different; I will say adjustable cam gears work well on modm engines with a adjustable fuel pressure regulator.

Peace and do not feel intimidated by the Vtec block is all show and no go.

As long as you hvae a BP block the sky is tyhe limit.

You don't need an adjustable fuel pressure regulator for adjustable cam gears. The small adjustments you're making aren't doing as much as you think, and there's only one place to tune cam gears, and that's the dyno. My car ran and made power above 4000RPM when I had my intake cam 3 teeth off, which was 45 crank degrees off. 45! The BP isn't as sensative to cam timing as Hondas are. Moving the intake cam 4° on the dyno only changed power 2whp.

Which pistons are you using, how much was the cylinder head shaved, and who did the manifold porting?

Also, why do you plan on getting an MSD ignition? BTW, your engine already has an oil cooler. All BPs do.

WTF October-30th-2004 10:37 PM

PCI..???? Are you?

Dude are you a PCI (Protegeclub Investigator)?

How many questions in one question, you did take advantage of english class.

I know I dont need an adjustable fuel pressure regulator with the adjustable cam gears and I also know the BP has an oil cooler. The reason for the adjustable fuel pressure regulator was the car was getting lean at high rpms. Which means that when I installed it in combination with the gears the engine was much stronger and felt (once again, yeah it felt with more power) after both things were reset and timing was corrected and ECM was reset.

And, BECAUSE each engine is different and what works with you may not work which means I do notice the difference when moving it a few degrees be it on the INTAKE or EXHAUST. The power curve is noticeable when playin with them.

AND yea I do know the only place to really finetune a car is on the DYNO.

And if you read my message I am talkin about the exhaust SSOOOUUNNDDD, not about HP gains. I will emphasize the power curve in terms of rpms changes.

I am sorry to say I cannot tell the pistons, how much I shaved it and who performed the manifold port, this I prefer to keep to myself. There is other tricks under the hood that only have told to a few very 323 drivers.

** Pls, I do not want to make this to become you said this you say that. I appreciate for putting your feedback and letg me know your opinion. Just respect my input the same way I accept yours. Each car is different, and I do not have a DYNO, but with all the mods been done to the engine feels 10,000 better when the adjustable cam gears were installed and the regulator was set. The dyno I use is when one of my friends jump in and notices the car different and also when racing with others the car just pulls and goes.

The pistons have 230 psi of compression.
Vacuum is 20.
Oil pressure is 40 psi @ 3,000 rpm.
Ignition timing is 11 degrees.

About the BP not been sensitive to gear settings I do not agree. Pls open a new thread regarding that subject.

Peace

MSD ignition

Now again, you are waiting for me to answer and say

"I am installing an MSD ignition because it will give me 20 more HP"

Because I know the MSD does not give any HP gain, but guess what I will because I want to and is beter to be safe than sorry. What can I say, is a 1990 323, so FOR ME I THINK it is time for a refresh on the ignition department.

ANd I am looking for an APEX system to, yes it does look cool and I like to learn how it works.

I have never said I want an oil cooler. An oil catch a can is what I want to install with a filter in the middle so it will help emissions and also helps the fuel keep the factory octane levels.

Let me know what do you think about my adjustable cam gears...

Gen1GT October-31st-2004 12:32 AM

Cannot tell me what pistons? That leads me to believe one of two things. Either you don't know yourself, or don't have any.

I'm getting Wiseco 11:1 CR 85mm pistons. Telling me your 'secret' is not going to change my mind.

Even if you don't tell me which pistons you got. Tell me your piston to bore clearance. What rings did you use, and what's your ring end gap? When you put the engine together, which headgasket did you use, and what was your final deck hight measurement?
