Stock switch cover removal

Hi, Got a 2007 mz3 here. Im doing a sub and amp install and want to wire the bass control **** to the left of the steering wheel where the dash brightness control is (refer to picture). how do you remove the stock plates, i guess you'd call them, i just don't want to break anything.

As already mentioned the blank has an extra plastic frame that makes it long. If you feel around back there you can work it loose very simply. You DO NOT need to take your dash apart or risk prying it out by the front and damaging either your dash or the cover.

I took mine out and put in two switches; one for my grille neon and the other for my washer nozzle LED's. Both switches fit nicely into that blank.
Hope that helps
