Temp/MPG Display question..

Greetings, everyone.

The temp/mpg LCD in my '12 Mazda3 has been acting strange as of late. Everyday I leave work around 6:30pm and notice the LCD unit seems to fade where the temp/mpg is displayed. It fades like a gradient, with the lightest area located at the top of the LCD unit. After about 10 minutes the entire display is uniform and fully lit.

Has anyone here experienced this in their car? I am wondering if it's due to the very hot weather?

I am concerned that one day it will not light up at all.

Anyone? Thanks.

that definitely sounds like a typical LCD problem from heat - guess that's what happens when they put the display at the top of the dash .
try cracking the windows open or using a sun shade, since that high temp isn't good for the display or the electronics around it.
