OBD2 port location

Hi all. I want to get real-time mpg readings on my 2000 LX 1.6 5-speed. Currently get 36-38mpg, 75% 60mph highways, 25% 45mph two-lane blacktop.

I've ordered an OBD2 reader (ScanGauge); hasn't arrived yet, but just realized I don't know where to plug it in.

I figure the port is somewhere under the dash. Could someone tell me exactly where I'd find it, and what it looks like? Small white box with 10 connections? Large black box with 50 connections? etc.

Anyone know an affordable (under $200) real-time OBD monitor (not just a code reader) for my car other than ScanGauge? One I can use while driving? Here's what I ordered:

http://www.scangauge.com/features/

Thanks.
Tom
