I was down at my dealer today (Sunridge Mazda, and these guys move ALOT of P5's) and found out that Mazda will be building limited edition, Turbocharged Orange Protege 5's, due in dealerships mid-July. My dealer will be getting the only two in Calgary, so I think I may have to put in my chit early if I decide to get one! Sounds like they'll be rare!
That's all I was "allowed to hear" but if anyone else out there has any information on this car, I'd be forever appreciative. These guys aren't ones to lie either, so pleae don't anyone get all fired up at me.
Well I live in Vancouver, BC, and there was a big Protege meet up here at one of the dealerships (sponsors for www.mpsport.net). Anyways one of the salesman, got us aside, and explained the future of Mazda, and yes, he also mentioned that it is a Orange Protege.
Yes, PROTEGE, not a Protege5. And he was pretty CLEAR with us that its going to be like the MP3 (but not called the same). But its going to be based on the Sedan.

Everything that Gujustud said is true, and plus there will be only 250 available in Canada from what I heard somewhere, forgot who mentioned it. He also said that they're thinking about bringing in a turbo protege AWD to compete with the WRX.... but that's not for sure
And yes, it will be orange hehe Lamborghini, look out! hehe

Well from the details the salesguy had given us, is that lots of the specs are up in the open right now. Mazda is toying with different idea's, for what they are goin to release which is good. I think they're keepin an eye on whats being released by other companies out there, and then will release something to compete against. Sure, its a cat/mouse game, but I think Mazda will pull away...

were going to need a second car soon. (sick of the beater )
Three options I see... Turbo Protege, Protege6, or the Mini Cooper S. (anyone have experience with the RSX-S, seems nice but crappy tires) Or keep the POS for bad days and buy the Honda F4 I've been looking at. (just @ the Honda site and they make it in yellow again!)

Richard, the 200 hp Miata will have a V6? Or maybe I'm just smoking something.... I think I recall the mazda guy mentioning that. Orange could be an all rite colour, depends what kind of orange it is...... if it's the darker kind......
