redline - 6000rpm
best time to shift - 5900rpm (for hp) 4800rom (for torque)

you get your max torque at 4800 for the lx car. i had a 1994 mazda protege just like yours. 5 spd, base, but it had a tach.

one thing im going to tell you, go ahead and rev it up to 6200 rpm. seriously. the car just keeps pulling. the Mechanic at the Mazda Dealership i go to said that the true redline for this car is 6500rpm. i would not reccomend going above this...fyi.

PS - strange....my first name is Bryan also. nice to meet you.

For the pro 94 DX is red line 6000rpm, max hp 5500rpm and max torque 4000rpm and your car has rev limiter that i think it is between 6200 to 6500 rpm.
