Head unit

Sorry mods if im posting this in the wrong section.

Well, I want to hook up after market speakers and also a MP3 player that hooks up thru the 6 disk changer input. I was wondering if anyone has removed their head unit yet, if so, could you list the connections on it. i.e. any pre out puts or what the 6 disc changer connector looks like(if its standard or some special design).

Thanks

Ooh, Sir Nuke you have no idea how much it pains me to say this - you *ouch* are *oof* wrong *yowww*!!

I now have iPod connectivity through my stock 6 CD changer head unit. The back of our stock head units have a 16 pin data port used to control an external cd changer unit. I purchased the following auxilliary input converter to be able to utilize this data port:

I also purchased this converter to get to RCA inputs:

With a headphone adaptor cable from Radio Shack, I am able to use my iPod through my factory HU without the loss of quality associated with cassette adaptors or the wireless RF units.

I was the first to try this, and it has since been confirmed by several members of another board. This does work!!

I believe I will definitely pursue the Dension ICELink adaptor simply to get control of my iPod through the factory HU via firewire connection. That should be awesome!!
