Well,

We just bought us a Mazda5 (on Monday, actually) and we love it. Of course, a week isn't a lot of time to really get to 'know' a car.

I'm really surprised that there aren't more Mazda5 owners roaming the forums I've visited...

congrats on the purchase. Is this your first new mazda? I pounded the hell out of the Mazda5 at the last Zoom Zoom Live event and left with the idea that if my wife got pregnant we'd pick one up.

The reason there aren't more 5 members on the forums is becuase the typicla 5 owner is someone older who is not an "enthusiast". Maybe they will grow a rabid fan base but right now they're still new and pretty well undiscovered.

Well, Roddy is half-right. I think it will take time to build a member base for the 5, because most people are not buying them to mod, (or even plan on doing a lot of DIY maintenance) and after all, this is mostly what this and other forums are all about.

As for the 'someone older and not and an enthusiast'---I didn't know there was an age limit.
Guess I should be trolling the Mall-Walker forums.

LOL @ Gary and Matty.

I love the 5, I beat the dickens out of one at ZoomZoomLive also. The only car i enjoyed more was the Miata and then of course the 3. I can see them getting a nich fanbase eventually once word gets out about them.

Yep, first Mazda period actually. Living in a smaller town, I haven't had the oportunity to drive many cars outside of Ford, Chevy, and Honda (several big Honda plants in the area). I barely even knew Mazda existed before test driving a 5.

I'm actually working on sharing a bit about the 5 on my website... I've written a review/essay with photos to detail our first week with it.

I haven't linked it up from the rest of our site--just haven't had the time yet, but I've been sharing it on the other forums I frequent.
