Question Problem with my 07 Mazda 3

Hey Everyone, I'm new here. My girlfriend has a 2007 mazda 3 2.3liter.
Heres what happened, yesterday she and I were driving through a new area in PA. We were driving down a road and she tried to avoid a huge pot hole, but there was another car right along side so she was out of luck. We hit it hard. We pulled over to check underneath and checked her tire and whatnot. We hit it with the front passenger tire by the way. I looked over everything and nothing was wrong or leaking, so we continued our way home. When we returned home we were about to go in her house and i quickly glanced at her car when i walked by and noticed a very small drip stain on the concrete. I thought it was from the a/c condenser but it wasn't just water. I checked it out and it was somewhat oil-based. I check the oil/tranny fluid and all looked well. I popped the hood and noticed that same liquid on the belly pan. Under the hood it seems to be under the passenger side motor mount. My question is, do mazda 3 motor mounts contain a liquid in them. I'm a Volkswagen guy and our cars leak a purple fluid from our motor mounts when they are shot. I'm new to mazdas and i'm not sure. That's why I came to Mazda experts.

If you guys/gals need a better reference I can snap a photo to give u a better idea.
Thanks again
Steve and ashley

Yes, they are an oil filled mount. and depending on the model (think it was older 3's and the speed models) had a recall on the upper motor mount (near the serpintine belt). So it may be a somewhat poor design that got overstressed when you hit a bump.
If that is where it's coming from just go to the dealer, and don't tell them about hitting a bump cause they will say it's your fault. If it was enough to bend a rim or suspension parts i'd agree with them at which point it's an insurance issue. But damaging the motor mount without an accident is a warranty issue.

It does sound like the passenger side motor mount and I recently replace mine on a 2005 Mazda 3. Check out ghostlyrich on you tube. He goes in great detail on replacement. You may need a couple of jacks if you don't have jack stands or ramps. On a scale of 1 to 10 the degree of difficulty is about 5...no need for special tools but elongated sockets help and good torque wrench.
