Error Code P2009

P2009 = variable tumble solenoid circuit low
The solenoid is connected to battery power on one side, and the PCM on the other side... it pulls the PCM side to ground to energize the solenoid. When it turns off it monitors for the signal to go high again (since one side is battery and the PCM side should float high).
It turns on the error light when the signal stays low.
This means there's a burned out solenoid (no connection), bad battery connection at the solenoid, or a short in the wiring. Poor ground at the PCM (control module) can cause this as well.
The valve is in the vacuum system on the air intake manifold - located where the air intake attaches to the engine - front near the airbox. But from it's location i'd assume it could be a bad electrical connection from moisture hitting it (corrosion), or maybe got disconnected if the car went in for service.
No time to send a pic now, have to get to work. But if you're a do-it-yourself-er let me know and I can add a pic to the post.

I just got this code last week. Wondering if this was fixed and if anyone else experienced this p2009 code as well.
My mazda3 sometimes doesn't start. Not even a sound, and most times everything is normal. Just odd. Engine light came on and this is the reading that came up. I do notice when it idles the engine idles up and down and gives off the feeling that it will shut off. But again this happens sometimes and not all the time.

This pic is off a Mazda 3S 2.3L, I'm troubleshooting a TB issue with a P0507, pulled to check vacuum issues and received this code one disconnected.
P009 code is vacuum solenoid. Pic description, 18-740H/18-741C on top of page. One of these are bad.

It was just a purge valve solenoid. It came with the hose. It was quite easy to replace actually. Cost was $130 CDN.
The error can also come from stripped wires so we searched out any wires that could have had
rubbed against metal.

My daughters car is getting this code now so I'm about to replace solenoid. I can see that it has 2 vacuum lines and a electrical connector. My question is after that how is the darn thing mounted? looks to be a single nut with the mounting bracket? Yes I do have the maintenance manual but it doesn't show R&R of it. I read earlier post wanting to post pictures of the solenoid so here are a few I took. Hope it helps the next person. By the way her Mazda 3 stats are 2005, 175000 miles 2.0 liter.
