Tune Up

Hello Newbie here! I apologize in advance if I posted in the wrong section as I have NO clue what I'm doing. I can only guess from watching my boyfriend on his evom forum. Anyway I need to do a tune up on my 2005 Mazda 3i 2.0L automatic and well I don't know what to get. I don't want to get walmart/autozone crap but I don't want to break my pocket either. If any one can give some suggestions Id greatly appreciate it! Thank you

Btw I believe I need:
Spark plugs
PVC Valve
Air Filter
Fuel Filter
Oil filter

If I'm forgetting anything let me know...

spark plugs - walmart is ok, the stock plugs are iridium or something special, make sure to get the same kind. You can pull one plug and use that to get an exact match for the manufacturer & part number.

PCV valve, shouldn't be needed, it's on the front of the engine I think, i'd use a mazda part here if it needs to be replaced.

Air filter, check it - but if it's not dirty you may not need one. The stock one is a very fuzzy paper, and I saw no performance difference going to a K&N - so that basic filter is under $20.

Fuel filter - any generic brand will do fine, though it's not likely you need one unless you have over 150k on the car. Autozone etc...

Oil filter, this is something you should change every oil change, they have them at walmart, napa, autozone etc... no real performance difference in the brands for the everyday drivers car.

Good luck with car work

You should change your spark plugs at about 45,000 miles. I think that might be your issue.

The 45,000 mile checkup includes:

Engine oil
Oil filter
Engine air filter
In-cabin air filter
Wiper blade replacement
Spark plugs
Distributor cap
Brake fluid
Inspect brake pads/replace if necessary
