Hey guys and gals,

My 06' Mazda 3 check engine light is on and i have no idea what it might
mean. The car only has 60k miles on it. I was wondering if any of you guys might know where i can take it to get it checked out for free? the dealer wants to a my good arm and leg to get it checked out.

I know Autozone will check the codes for free if you ask them. You could also use a search engine to find lists of Mazda codes and what they mean and search forums and whatnot on how people have fixed them because people have probably run into the same problem.

Yep, also Advance Auto Parts. Prob any auto parts store will let you use machine to check. They usually even tell you right there at the auto parts store what the code means... at least for me they did.

I have a 2005 and my light has come on 3-5 times and every time it is because I don't screw my gas cap on tight enough. Seriously... I thought a few clicks was good. Now I overdo it just to be sure.
