We alraedy got our brand new Mazda3 to start the new project.

We will have a complete turbo kit available by February 2005. It will be a very good quality kit with a one year warranty and lifetime in all castings like piping, manifold, downpipe and intercooler.

The kit will have all parts and components to bolt it on and writen instructions as well as digital video of the install process.

We are also expanding to have an install shop in Miami and distributors in California, Texas and Florida to cover most of the US market form those three locations.

We have our own car to do all tests, taking it to the limit as we did with the P5, and offer a proven product not a customer's car in which you are limited to a few days.

The kit will have:

Cast iron Manifold
Ball Bearing turbo
Cast iron downpipe
Front mounted intercooler
Powder coated piping
Stainless steel braided oil lines
Silicone hoses
Stainless steel hardware
Haltech ECU Pre mapped and pre wired
Digital video install process
Intake system with 3 inch open end air filter

If anyone is interested, we already have a long list of people waiting, you can e mail us at info@hiboost.com

Juan

The first dyno is already made. The car made 235 WHP at 7 psi of boost. We will try diffrent turbos to see which is the best for the application.

I will keep updated the progress.

So is this for the 2.0 or the 2.3L 3?
EDIT- and if it's for the 2.3, will it work with the hatch?

2.3L is a 2.3L...why would it matter whether it has a hatch or a trunk ?? :dunno:

Only because mazda made a different frame for the two cars. Just to check to make sure that it would be compatible. The hatch and sedan don't share a single part on the outside except I think the mirrors.

are you joking ?? there arent 2 different frames for the 3,

  thats a good one though

he was just asking just in case...it's not uncommon though for maufacturers to do something similar to this. Sometimes it's easier to modify the frame/chasis than it is to work within the confines of one set space.

That doesnt sound like he is asking....sounds like he is telling me Mazda made a different chassis for the Hatch, and that all the sheet metal is different also..that simply isnt true...I know this for a fact. The 3 Hatch is exactly like the P5 as far as differences between the hatch and sedan...they simply made the sedan into a 5 door hatch..the only differences are the sheet metal from the rear door back. Making different sheet metal and chassis with the same model is WAY too expensive

Let me clarify, http://www.automobiles.com/review_desc.asp?c=551&t=best if you scroll down to the walkaround you will find out what Im talknig about. Because they don't share any body panels I did not know if they shared their frame either, which then lead me to make sure that the turbo would work for both.

long story short the engine compartments are the same and that's all that matters.

back to the original question will this turbo work with the 2.0 or not??

Roddimus Prime
December-15th-2004, 10:19 AM
it's not known 100% yet. The motors are very similar but that's not the only factor. With time and testing we'll know.

are there any other turbos out there for the 2.0 3 yet?

I just bought my 3 a few months ago...(first time buyer)...and i was wondering if there were any sites that i could go to to find upgrades for my 3...i have looked around the net but have been finding stuff for RX-7, protege, and the like but nothing for the 3...i'm interested in the turbo but is there anything else that is being developed?

Roddimus Prime

this is the place to be....all new information gets filtered here and with some time you'll find everything you need. To be honest though, nothing is really available except the injen intake, a few catback exhausts and some eibach springs....thats about it.

Eric Smith

well, shoot...how long do u expect it will take before more aftermarket equipment starts to be developed and sold?...i would've expected people like Injen and other companies to be developing all sorts of stuff considering what the car was designed to be

Roddimus Prime
January-11th-2005, 12:47 PM
considering injen only makes intakes....the intake is already out....nothing else injen is going to make for it. :blue:

I suspect it'll be several months to a year before the aftermarket really takes hold on this new platform.

Be patient though, unless you're like me, you'll have this car for a while and will get to be around for everything that comes out.

Its going for $4000 right(Turbo)??
Also, I meant to ask u how much you sell front bumpers for(erebuni)...

Roddimus Prime
January-22nd-2005, 12:00 AM
no price has been finalized yet.....

I don't sell eurbuni kits...i'm kinda insulted!!

CarbonFiber
January-22nd-2005, 12:23 AM
Why???
The one I want is the one that looks like the Auto exe bumper... Its cheaper to buy from erebuni than auto exe by $300-$400. And I certainly dont like the RAVEN kit~.

Juan is the man. Hey Juan, any idea yet on price? Will it be similar to the protege kits? What turbo did you finally settle on? How much boost? Who do you love baby?

Hey have you heard of the SpeedSix coming out soon? It is a turbo 2.3 with 274 horses under the hood. Will this kit be anything close to that?

No, the Speed 6 motor is different in terms of internal parts (piston and rods) the block is of a stronger mold construction but very simular. Juan can elaberate on that.

So the 2.3 engine coming out in the SpeedSix is different than the one in the 3? That sucks...

the question is this. How long will our stock internals last on moderate boost and normal driving? The engine hasn't been out long enough to see any long-term testing, but I say give it a year, and we'll know. (How many blow engines show up.)

so that turbo kit wont work on the 3.

gotya, If juans previous turbo kit is any indication there will be no problems. I've been around for about 3 years and I've NEVER seen a bown HiBoost car....never. That's even using the wimpy fs-de engine. This new duratec is a lot more boost friendly.
