Any Protege ES owners interested? I'm gonna figure out how much its gonna cost to get this thing "emblemized", ie: bubble sticker material.

The reason I chose amber instead of yellow is because my side markers are going to be amber and I have no yellow anywhere on my car so it'll be a little out of place.

PLEASE NOTE: This is not meant to be an MP3 rip-off, I just thought it would give my ES a unique touch if I were to replace the boring "ES 2.0" vinyl decals with an actual emblem, as many of the Pro5 owners have done.

Let me know what you all think of this latest version, I think it'll look great in that bubbly emblem-worth material.

ESsedan01, what color would you prefer instead of the amber or yellow? Send me the HEX or RGB code of the color you like and I'll modify the emblem for you.

I really like this idea. This could really pull in a lot of money if people get together. Would it be possible to make for all generations?
Did anyone contact Racing Beat, to find where they ordered their mp3 badges from and how much it cost?

Ya, I can design/re-design the logos for any gen, just tell me what you have in mind. There's a custom decal place here in Montreal that I'm gonna visit and figure out how much they charge to do this. I asked pr5owner and he said at protege5online.com? Is that right. I also remember that there is a bunch of other stuff there like the black zoom-zooms I think in the right style. Maybe we can do a joint thing and save on some shipping. Whatcha think?

last year, i called racing beat, to find out about getting emblems made for production numbers, they were expensive as shit.


btw, if you find where to get them, could you see if you can get two of the emblem in my signature?

The set on the right ("motion trail") looks really good. It looks like a glow from the color is illuminating the "mazda" pattern.

Of course, I have an LX, and I don't think the badge would look as nice if it just said "LX" on it. It would look downright silly if it said "LX 1.8"! :p Hmmm, since it is one of the "Touring Editions" it could say "LX-TE", but that is just getting confusing. :rolleyes:

I suppose it could say "MPS", that makes as much sense as "MP5". Heh, maybe "MP4"? Or "MPTE"? Now it sound like an additive, or maybe "empty".

As for cost of getting these made, I still do not know: when I find out, I'll let you all know. Just so I have an idea: how many people initially want these (please specify color, text, with or without motion trail, etc.)?

When are you guys ordering, because I need to know when to get the money. I would order two. On mine it would need to say 1.5 DX. I know it is underpowered, and not that fast, but it all I can get, and I am working on the power parts.

Em, you're forgetting. A P5 IS an ES 2.0 Protege! :)

thanks for reviving this old thread guys! unfortunately, I never found a company to produce these emblems. I looked around the city of Montreal without any luck. The dome tag producers that produced Mitch's MP5 emblems charge a hefty initial amount per design, and given that everyone here was showing interest in different designs it would be a huge loss for me to have all of them made.

If anybody else wants to help with the search for an affordable manufacturer, go right ahead and let me know if/when you find one - at which point I would have to provide the manufacturer with a high-quality print version of the emblems.

How much was the set fee and cost per emblem from the place that did the P5 emblem? Maybee some of us wouldn't mind incurring some of the setup costs? I know I wouldn't!

What you could do is to only offer one or two styles, price out how much 10, 20, and 30 badges might be (including the setup and sample fee costs in the price per badge) and then post messages here and at protegeforum to see how many badges people would be interested in ordering. If there is enough interest, the price per badge will drop. Since you like the blue with the trailing edge, if I were you, that would be the first barge I would use to generate interst. If it dosen't come in yellow (like I want) I would still get three badges, one for either side, and one for the back. If 10 people want two or three each, your already looking at 20 or 30 badges. Looking at the pricing from dometag.com (http://www.dometag.com). So that would be roughly be $9.25 (20) to $6.17 (30) per badge for the setup and sample fees. You would then have another $5.00 for each badge to be printed (cost of the MP5 badge from Mitch). Giving you a total of $14.25 (20) to $11.17 (30) per badge. So if you would want three, it would cost $42.75 (20) to $33.51. I would pay for three custom badges!!

What are your thoughts? I reaaaalllyyy want to do this, I think they are great designs.

All right, I spoke with Mitch from protege5online, and he would be very interested in carrying one of the badges on his site. He said for that to happen he needs to buy about $400 worth of badges. He's finding out what the cost would be per badge for me so when I find that out, I'll let you know. For now, Mitch/I would need to know how many badges everyone would want. This would have to only be one of the styles that damaster has created. I'm pretty sure it will be a "ES 2.0" badge with the trailing edge, but I don't know what color. So if color dosen't matter to you (Blue, Yellow, or Red; being the most popular), how many would you want? Let's start a list.
