2001-2002 Mazda Millenia

I've heard that Mazda is going to kill the Millenia in a few years, I hope that isn't true, becaue I love the way it looks. It beats that boring looking Lexus 2001 ES300.

Re: 2001-2002 Mazda Millenia

Ahem, the Millenia HAS BEEN KILLED. 2002 will be the LAST year of the Millenia. In 2003 the Mazda 6 will replace both the 626 and the Millenia....

however, that means Millenia will be a MAJOR BARGAIN in the used car market

Sucks? The Millenia is underpowered and HEAVY and has engine management issues. Ricer's dream huh? Explained to me why the media who have test drove it says it has a stiff chassis and handles better than some BMWs?
I never said the Millenia was fast, I just like it because it looks nice and has a nice interior. I want a car that is comfortable and I want to look nice while driving it. Some cars don't belong on the track and the Millenia are one of them.
The 6 can do loops around a Ferrari for all I care. I don't care for it. In my opinion it has "rice me” all over it, from the 8in’’ Fart pipe, 9 in'' window banners, non-functional samurai wings, neon’s under/inside the car, outrageous body kits and 3 24'' subwoofers. Its already happened to the Lexus IS300 and that car is semi-expensive. So a lot more average people will be able to buy a 6 with their mommies and daddy's money. But remember this is just my opinion; so don't get your ***** in a twist

I've read somewhere (correct me if I'm wrong) that the auto tranny (possibly the only option on the millenia??) is weird in that when you floor it, it gradually builds up speed, like really smoothly. That's just what I've heard, but it sounds kind of weird. I love the look of Millenia's, especialyl the new ones... But I'd still go for a MAXIMAAAAA!!!

The 2002 Maxima is nice, but I love the way the new Millenia looks. I want a jet black one with these wheels (below). OMG its going to be nice

erm... wouldn't say it like that. seems like n-am is the only place whick gets 'normal' tail lights for the 6. in europe we have chromed rear lights as well.

so much for that.

but i liked the millenia/xedos 9 too... however, the new 6 is a completely new direction in styling... more sleek, lower.

I thought the US-spec Mazda 6 gets the Altezza style lights that are Red rather than those ugly mirror styled ones?? Correct me if I'm wrong on this but I did see it like that at the LA Auto Show...

Anyway.... Millenia was a good car but I think the new 6 has enough wow factor to out-do the old 626 and Millenia put together... no?

These are the lights the US-spec Mazda 6 will be geting. I think you're confused about what "Altezza" style is. These aren't referred to as "Altezza", the other ones are.

I like em!

Where did the term Altezza come from? Is it a manufacturer? A person who designed them?? WTF?

Well back around 1998-99 Toyota of Japan had a car named the Toyota Altezza (Lexus IS300) I think it was the first car to have those chromed lights, so light makers copied the lights for other cars and called them Altezza Accord,Altezza Civic and so on. some crap like that....but I don't know cause I'm 16.
