I have the front strut tower bar, and was wondering if there was any rear strut tower bars available for a 2000 protege? thanks

Someone makes one for the P5, but as for the sedan, there's no reason to add one, the likelyhood of the rear deck structure "flexing" is about nil.

IMO, I dont see what those GTSpec trunk parts can do other than add some weight to the back of your sedan. I could see adding a cross brace to the P5, but the sedan, no.

i had rear subframe connectors in my Taurus SHO and it really stiffened up the ride a lot. It made it much harsher but it was an auto-x demon. It's a compromise but if you're serious about performance I would surely get one.

2nd that.

GT SPEC trunk parts will add some excess weight, but it stiffens up the car noticeably. This has all been proven in their test vehicles.

Chris

I doubt the weight will be a factor. Those pieces can't be more than 10lbs.

For your reference:

Front ladder bar = 2lbs

Trunk Bar = 4lbs

4pt extension = 4lbs

Well, they'll look nice and all. But unless you make a habit of driving off of the loading dock at the local Wal-Mart or jumping barns in Hazard County with "those Duke boys" I still can't see what they'll accomplish. Have fun!

rustychops41 is correct.

There is absolutely no point in installiing a rear strut tower bar in the 3rd gen sedan since the towers are already tied together by the frame. No additional stiffening is necessary.
